As plane get firmer, I will be in touch.
Glad to hear Blest Redeemer is moving forward; your "Looking on the Bright Side" with that wonderful video was very interesting.Relucent Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12414827898661535555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31814332.post-59910169116996567282012-05-25T23:56:46.184-07:002012-05-25T23:56:46.184-07:00The da Ponte residence is about forty minutes driv...The da Ponte residence is about forty minutes drive from Cheltenham. We could pick you up and take you on a trip round some of Britain's least-known beautiful roads if that would suit you. Or drive you straight back to Casa da Ponte where we could sit in the garden and drink well-chosen beer and even better chosen wine, perhaps watching our gardener attending to the nearby landscape (you said you're coming here to see gardens). Or if that sounds fatiguing we could dine with you in Cheltenham. But don't feel obliged. Heck, you'll have paid for all this stuff.

I take it you knew that Cheltenham is where our electronic spooks operate from. By the way Elgar's house is nearby too if that tempts you.

I enjoyed the techno-description of what they gone and done to you; it's always good to throw in the word "impedance" since it sounds more impressive than resistance. Briefly I mixed it up in my mind with inductance since I had an irresistible desire to pass on a joke about milli-Henries which must, alas, die on the vine.

Reading and re-reading. I downloaded a lot of free titles by Arnold Bennett and HG Wells to the Kindle only to find that both of them wrote a good deal of boiler-plate I was unaware of. However I was able to start re-reading the former's Clayhanger which is rather closer to a mini-masterpiece and great if you're interested in reading techno-detail (about printing, in this case). I also enjoyed Christopher Hitchens' collected essays Arguably. But I'm not reading too much these days, having just passed the 90,000 word mark with Blest Redeemer.

We're off to France June 8 - 25 but this won't interfere with anything. Even if you can't fit us in anywhere please feel free to phone us; I may be able to help with advice.Roderick Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16828395545197001637noreply@blogger.com
